Geolocation Troubleshooting: How to Fix Common Issues
Geolocation issues can usually be fixed with a few quick checks on your device and network settings. Since we're required to confirm you're within a province where we're licensed to operate, certain programs or connection settings can sometimes get in the way.
Below, we'll walk you through the most common causes and how to resolve each one.
Blocked Software
Certain programs on your computer may block the Geo Location plug-in and prevent access from outside your registered jurisdiction. Please disable any such software to allow proper detection.
Virtual Networks (VPN)
Using a VPN can interfere with geolocation and block access to our platform. Be sure to disable your VPN and connect using your regular network connection.
Remote Desktop Software
If you use programs like LogMeIn or GoToMyPC, please disable them, as they can prevent geolocation from working correctly.
Incorrect IP Address
Sometimes, your IP address might appear as being outside your registered jurisdiction, if it was assigned that way by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Try restarting your router for a few minutes to reset your IP address. If that doesn’t fix the issue, please contact your ISP for help correcting the assignment.
Enable Wi-Fi
Your Wi-Fi doesn’t need to be your active connection, but it must be turned on so we can detect nearby networks for accurate location verification. Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device, and if the signal is weak, try moving to an area with better connectivity.
